Julia graduated from NYU's Tisch Center for Hospitality and Tourism in 2009 with a concentration in Hotel Development. She has studied abroad in Spain, France, and Argentina and has traveled extensively throughout Europe, South America and the Middle East. She is fluent in Spanish and has a good working knowledge of French.
Her past work experience includes Public Relations firm PMK where she focused on accounts such as Bravo television network, American Express, Nivea and Verizon. Her prior work experience included positions at Ian Schrager's The Gramercy Park Hotel as well as Mario Batali's Otto Enoteca.

Julia placed an article for Extraordinary Journeys Africa in Town and Country Weddings on April, 2012, titled, 'A Trip to Remember', where she was able to successfully highlight and promote the honeymoon market.
Another major placement that she spearheaded, helping launch the Extraordinary Journeys brand, was a 2-page feature, 'Lions, Leopards and Luxury', in The Wall Street Journal on July 2, 2011.
To effectively reach the high end, luxury clientele, Julia placed a six-page feature in Caviar Affair Magazine for Extraordinary Journeys on February 5, 2011, titled 'Falling in Love with East Africa'.
