Michaela Barnes

Michaela Barnes joined DQMPR as an Account Coordinator in January 2011. Since joining DQMPR, Michaela has captured the attention of top editors to successfully coordinate media tours, press trips and events in New York City for several clients. Her ability to identify and shape a newsworthy story has secured appointments with top-tier media outlets and stimulated publicity opportunities across traditional and new media platforms.

Before joining DQMPR, Michaela was an intern at Development Counsellors International (DCI), where she assisted the Travel Marketing department to implement public relations programs for such destinations as Dubai, Peru, Toronto and Greater Williamsburg, organizing press trips, media events and tours, and working directly with consumers at trade events. Michaela graduated from Susquehanna University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, specializing in Public Relations.

Highlights on some of Michaela’s Accomplishments at DQMPR include:

• On behalf of Finnair, Michaela generated interest in Finnair’s Angry Birds themed-flight from Helsinki to Singapore securing coverage in Adweek, Los Angeles Times, Yahoo! News, Passport Magazine, Detroit News, and more.

• Michaela has successfully placed Geringer Global Travel’s tours in Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Frommer’s, BBC Travel, The Wall Street Journal, Celebrated Living, Montreal Gazette, and more.
